The Second Wind Hall of Fame recently received its newest member, Shelvie Foust, at the Green Blades Garden Club spring luncheon.
A native of North Carolina, Foust retired to this area after a productive career in other parts of the country. She has been a volunteer at the Polk County Community Foundation and was on the boards of The Friends of the Tryon Fine Arts Center and the American Red Cross.
St. Luke’s has benefited from her service as a manager of St. Luke’s Thrift Shop and a member of the St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary.
Foust is also a dedicated volunteer at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. She was one of the Good Samaritans honored for their service with the North Carolina Governor’s award.
Currently, Foust is the moderator and director of Christian education at Tryon First Baptist Church. She is also the current president of the Green Blades Garden Club, which is the sponsoring organization for her induction.
