New benchmark set for Community Chorus

To the editor:
Everyone in the audience for Community Chorus on May 6 will surely agree with this: Dr. Mark Schweizer and his full stage of singers, pianists, and percussionists have set a new benchmark for this almost 40-year-old organization.
Schweizer’s formula for this production paired excerpts from Carl Orff’s bold “Carmina Burana” with a well chosen block of unaccompanied choral pieces.
It was a tight, elegant, moving program with no intermission, no excess blather and no awkward stage logistics.
Congratulations to all for a job very well done.
The Rotary Club of Tryon can be ever grateful for the advancing quality of this important fundraiser.
