Well-known ornithologist and birding expert Simon Thompson will conduct a spring birding hike

at FENCE on May 16 at 8 a.m. This will be the second in the series.
Thompson is the director and originator of Ventures Inc., an Asheville-based touring company that specializes in birding tours. He has led expeditions to Belize, the Peruvian Amazon, the Galapagos, Greece, France, England and Australia.
The hike will begin at the main FENCE Center building. Hikers should come prepared with a pair of comfortable walking shoes, water and binoculars.
