AmeriCorps volunteers who attend Landrum and Chapman high schools recently helped the Inman Rotary Club pick up trash on Park Road and Blackstock Road in Inman, S.C.
The student volunteers were assisted by Olena Atkins, site coordinator for Landrum High School.
Inman Rotary Club president Holly Foster said, “These kids got up early on a Saturday morning and were so enthusiastic and willing to do a lot of hard work along with our fellow Rotarians.
“They are a great group of young people and are learning what it means to provide volunteer service and make a positive contribution to their community. We could not have done it without them.”
The AmeriCorps Program in District One provides opportunities for high school seniors to perform volunteer services and learn about making a difference in their communities.
