Polk Lady Wolverines beat North Buncombe 5-0 Friday, March 2.
“We played some outstanding offense and pulled together nicely on defense,” said Head Coach Jeff Wilson. “Jamie [Hrobak] has simply been spectacular in the first three contests.”
Hrobak struck out 14 and gave up just four hits. Offensive leaders were Brittany Jones, Amber Lynch and Cassie Couch who each had two hits. Couch also grabbed three RBIs. Defensively, Ashley Kropp at catcher and Alyssa Montgomery at shortstop came through on some big plays for the team, Wilson said.
Last week, Polk beat Asheville 5-0 and Brevard 6-0, both perfect games for Hrobak.
The team faced Brevard again Monday night.
