Saluda man arrested on murder charges

Brandon Cody-Lee Case, 23, of Saluda was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 25 in Polk County and charged with murder by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 3:19 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at 2643 Macedonia Road, located in Henderson County. The violent crimes investigators responded and found Joshua William Lindsay of Saluda deceased, according to a press release from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators treated the death as suspicious after evidence collected and statements of witnesses were in “substantial conflict,” according to the sheriff’s office.
Preliminary autopsy results received from the medical examiner’s office on Friday, Feb. 24 confirmed Lindsay’s death was a homicide.
Case was arrested without incident in the early morning hours of Saturday, Feb 25.
Case, who is being represented by attorney Roy Neill, had his first court appearance in Henderson County Monday, Feb. 27. Judge Athena Brooks told Case on Feb. 27 he is charged with one count of murder that carries a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole. His next court date was set for March 16 for a probable cause hearing.
Case is being held at the Henderson County Detention facility without bond.
