The Green River Watershed Alliance invites residents to a presentation on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Polk County Library in Columbus.
The purpose of this citizen-led organization is to address the need to build a collaborative environmentally protective plan for the Green River Watershed. Organizers said the Green River Watershed Alliance will promote clean water, responsible stewardship and sustainability of the watershed. The alliance will work toward restoring and protecting the riparian buffer and stabilizing eroding streams, banks and shorelines for the purpose of improving water quality, reducing sedimentation pollution and enhancing the plant, animal and fish habitats.
