Foothills Gymnastics plans to host a free information session about a 90-day, weight loss program Saturday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m.
The MonaVie RVLUTION program is focused on blood sugar stabilization as a key to sustainable, long-term weight management. The program is being used at multiple gyms in Hendersonville, Greenville and Tryon with the effort in mind of losing a combined 35,000 pounds for Upstate South Carolina and the Foothills of North Carolina, said Foothills Gymnastics owner Jana Williamson.
“It is very unhealthy to carry so much weight around,” Williamson said. “It is not good for us.”
Participants in the program will get body measurements and will sign up to attend exercise classes twice per week for 45 minutes each. Williamson said the exercise classes would be built so that someone at any fitness level could participate. The group will then meet once a month for four months to get new measurements and track progress.
“A lot of people tell me they are too embarrassed to work out in gym,” Williamson said. “We will build up support system with others trying to lose weight so they will feel safe. It’s a new year, we can start a new life.”
