A speed sensing and display sign was in place in downtown Tryon on Friday, Jan. 20, reminding drivers that the speed limit is 20 miles per hour in the downtown area. The issue of excessive speed in Tryon was brought up at a town council meeting on Dec. 20, when councilman Roy Miller said the town had to address speeding on Trade Street. The town also recently approved lowering the speed limit around Tryon Elementary School to 25 miles per hour. (photo by Samantha Hurst)
