In November and December, students at Sunny View Elementary were told, “Give yourself a gift. . . Read!” Those students who met a specific reading goal were rewarded with the honor of eating their lunch at a special decorated table, complete with festive tablecloth and centerpiece, “fancy” napkin, and “after-dinner mint.” These “Marvelous Monday” lunches were a way to celebrate Christmas and students’ reading accomplishments.
