Rep. Trudi Walend, who was chosen to replace outgoing Rep. David Guice in a special election in House District 113, which includes Polk County, was sworn in on Wednesday, Jan. 4 on the floor of the North Carolina House of Representatives. Walend previously served in the House for 10 years.
“I am honored to once again serve the citizens of my district,” said Walend.
“We are lucky to have Rep. Walend back in the House,” said House Speaker Thom Tillis (R-Mecklenburg). “She was an effective legislator during her previous terms here, and I’m confident she will continue that trend as she begins her new term.”
