Polk district court results

In Polk County District Court held last Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 with Judge Pete Knight presiding, 158 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are given as they appear in court records):

Brad Michael Bailey was convicted of driving left of center. Bailey was fined $25 and court costs.

Jeremy David Behne was convicted of speeding 80 mph in a 65 mph zone. Behne was fined $50 and court costs.

Asa Landon Brewington was convicted of misdemeanor possession of marijuana ½ to 1½ ounce, misdemeanor maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance and simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. Brewington was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Lars Busk was convicted of speeding 44 mph in a 35 mph zone. Busk was fined $20 and court costs.

Elois Castaneda-Alviar was convicted of driving a vehicle with no operator’s license. Castaneda-Alviar was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Karen Roper Craven was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Craven was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service and court costs.

John Robert Eckert was convicted of failure to wear seat belt – driver. Eckert was fined $25.50 and court costs.

Dustin Allen Girdler was convicted of felony possession of stolen goods/property, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, felony breaking or entering a motor vehicle, misdemeanor breaking and/or entering, resisting a public officer and felony larceny. Girdler was sentenced to three years supervised probation, $10,435 in restitution and court costs for possession of stolen goods/property and misdemeanor breaking and or entering; three years supervised probation and court costs for larceny of motor vehicle and felony breaking or entering a motor vehicle and 8 to 10 months at the N.C. Department of Corrections with 83 days credit for resisting a public officer and felony larceny.

Rebecca Farr Hathaway was convicted of unsafe passing on a crest or curve. Hathaway was to pay court costs.

David Patrick Hefner was convicted of drive after consuming under age 21. Hefner was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs.

Shadow Marie Hicks was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Hicks was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $35 fine and court costs.

Ryan Joseph Hornbeck was convicted of possession of marijuana ½ to 1½ ounce. Hornbeck was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $500 fine and court costs.

Heather Nicole Johnson was convicted of failure to comply with monies. Johnson elected to serve a modified sentence of five days in jail.

Jesse Charles Jones was convicted of an expired registration card/tag. Jones was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Julian A. Littlejohn was convicted of level 1 driving while impaired and driving while license revoked. Littlejohn was sentenced to two years supervised probation, 30 days in jail, a $300 fine and court costs for driving while impaired and 18 months supervised probation and a $25 fine for driving while license revoked.

Amanda Dawn Mathis was convicted of simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and misdemeanor maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance. Mathis was sentenced to one year supervised probation, $300 in restitution and court costs.

Anitra Godfrey Miller was convicted of two counts of worthless check simple. Miller was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, $305 in restitution and court costs.

Christopher J. Walters was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Walters was fined $30 and court costs.
