Tryon Painters and Sculptors (TPS) was awarded an equipment grant to buy easels and pedestals from the Polk County Community Fund (PCCF).
TPS bought 10 wooden easels and 15 pedestals using the grant funds. The easels have been used for the variety of workshops, classes, life-drawing sessions and studio space that TPS members may utilize at any time.
The pedestals have been used primarily to display artworks for the organization’s eight gallery shows per year.
TPS also has a multitude of art, wine and cheese programs that demonstrate various modes of the visual arts such as: pottery, ceramics, oil and acrylic painting, pastel drawings, learning perspective, drawing, Chinese brush painting, painting with paper and learning how to cut mattes and frames.
TPS is located at 26 Maple St. in Tryon.
