Ann Whidden McAndrews of 70 Oak Street, Tryon, died peacefully Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Irmo, S.C.
Born in Evanston, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Ray Allen and Louise Klaus Whidden and was the widow of William J. McAndrews, who died in 2006.  She was an avid golfer and tennis player. She loved being with her friends as they were very important to her. Ann was a member of the Episcopal Church of Holy Cross, Tryon.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann McAndrews of Irmo, S.C., and a son, William Harvey McAndrews of Chicago, Ill.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 in the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross, Tryon, with  Father Michael Doty officiating.
