Carl Sandburg Home celebrates National Public Lands Day

Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site will celebrate National Public Lands Day (NPLD) on Saturday, Sept. 24. On this day, public lands will provide work opportunities for volunteers to help care for parks, forests and recreation sites.
Work is scheduled from 9 a.m. till noon or early afternoon. Registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. at the visitor information station outside the restrooms by the lake. Volunteers must be registered.
Volunteers will receive a NPLD fee free coupon that may be presented for free entry at any of the agency lands on another day.
