Social networking courses offered through Mountain BizWorks

Mountain BizWorks, an organization aimed at bolstering small business in Western North Carolina, plans to host three events this fall to Polk County entrepenuers.
The workshops include a Social Media Business Series in Tryon Sept. 7 and Sept. 14. The events will take place at Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce at 6 p.m.
Session one will focus on Facebook for beginners, while the second meeting will cover using Twitter to boost business. These classes will be led by instructor Sarah Benoit (www.creative-original.com).
The third event will be held Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. and is the informational meeting for another 21-hour course on Ag-Biz Foundations. This course is aimed at helping entrepenuers turn ideas into workable business plans. It will cover the basics of creating a business mission, goals, structure and management capacity, financial planning and resources, marketing and presentation.
This course will be held regularly at the Mill Spring Agricultural Development Center.Classes start Oct. 10 from 6-9 p.m. each night.
