The sequence is divided into eight-week sections, with the first course emphasizing the sounds and structure of the language, along with a basic vocabulary. During the final eight weeks students are engaged in advanced listening, writing and conversational practice. The eight-weeks of the Spanish I course are designed for adults with little or no previous contact with the language. The next course starts Friday, Sept. 2 and meets from 10 a.m. to noon.
