The Tryon Police Department captured a man suspected of trying to receive prescription medication by fraud.
Tryon Police Chief Jeff Arrowood said his department was dispatched to the Tryon Pharmacy last Wednesday, July 13. He said the caller advised the suspect was still on the premises.
After a brief foot chase, Tryon officers arrested Bobby Joe West, 55, of Rock Hill Church Rd., Inman, S.C., according to Arrowood.
West was charged with attempting to obtain a schedule II controlled substance by forgery, according to police records.
Arrowood said when officers arrived at the pharmacy, a white male was seen exiting the business and began to walk away.
West was taken to the Polk County Jail and received a $5,000 secured bond.
