Thermal Belt Rotary awards two scholarships

The Thermal Belt Rotary Club has awarded two academic scholarships to the following student graduates: Olivia Skellie of Landrum High School and Brandon Britton of Polk County High School.

Skellie is the daughter of David and Caroline Skellie of Campobello, S.C.

Britton is the son of Denise and Chuck Britton of Columbus, N.C.

Skellie will be attending Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and major in international business. Skellie works at Nature’s Storehouse in Tryon.

Britton has been accepted at Western Carolina University and would like to study biology. In his spare time you can see him swinging golf clubs at Tryon Country Club. Britton is a true Rotarian at heart, his father, Chuck, is a past president of Thermal Belt Rotary and his grandfather, Ed Britton, is the club’s charter president.
