The Tryon Riding & Hunt Club will be holding a $5,000 Charity Jumper Challenge on Sunday, June 5 at FENCE, sponsored by Ariat. What does this mean to local charities? Free money. Fill out the application form, which can be found on the trhcevents.org website under “Latest News,” and turn it in with a copy of your non-profit designation letter.

Eight charities will be randomly selected and announced during the 1st Tryon Summer Premiere Horse Show at Harmon Field on Friday, May 27. A jumper team, consisting of one professional and one amateur rider, will be drawn at a later time to represent the selected charities. The charity matched with the winning team will win $1,500 with a sliding scale where even the eighth place finisher will win $250 for its assigned charity.

Applications have been received from the following non-profits: American Association of University Women, Foothills Equestrian Nature Center, Foothills Humane Society, House of Flags Museum, Inc., Pet Tender Angels Rescue, Polk Emergency Equine Rescue and St. Luke’s Hospital.
