FENCE’S student art show ‘Nature Through A Child’s Eyes’ continues

On April 10, FENCE had the opening show for the student art exhibition “Nature through a Child’s Eyes.” Over 80 students from the third, fourth and fifth grade classes of OP Earle, Polk Central, Saluda and Sunny View Elementary schools submitted work to the competition.

Through various media and styles, students expressed their relationship with and perception of nature. Tryon Fine Arts Center will continue to host the exhibition throughout the month of April.

Winners received gift certificates to Barnes and Noble. All participants received gift certificates to Scoops n’ More.

The third grade winners are as follows: Amberly Arkell – first place; Cameron Tefft and Austin Toney – second place; Olivia Search, Sydney Mckinney and Karla Olguin – third place.

The fourth grade winners are as follows: Sadie Allen – first place; Jessica Ravan and Stephanie Serrano – second place; Peyton Dill, Mackenzie Smith and Blake Rackley – third place.

The fifth grade winners are as follows: Lacey Reed – first place; Julio Chavez and Haven Dufford – second place; Parker Towne, Zoe Parson and Tyler Harris – third place.
