Silent Art Auction opens at Upstairs Artspace

The Upstairs Artspace presents the Fifth Silent Art Auction opening Friday, April 1. More than 180 donated works of art include paintings, drawings, prints, pottery, folk art, glass and sculpture. Many pieces are by well-known regional artists such as Doug Dacey, ceramic artist; Tad Stamm, photographer; Alan Hollar, woodturner; and Peter Loewer (“The Wild Gardener”), visual artist and writer.

Bids can be placed Tuesday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Final bids must be placed by 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 9. Starting at 5 p.m. the same Saturday, a live auction of selected art works will be conducted by popular auctioneer Bill Jones. Donated wine and appetizers will be served between the two auctions.

The Upstairs is a nonprofit contemporary art and art education organization. The Silent Art Auction is one of its major fund-raising events. For information call 828-859-2828.
