Smiths, Troyer sign books at local author day in Spartanburg March 31

On Thursday, March 31, the Spartanburg Headquarters Library will hold a local author book signing event from 6 – 8 p.m.

Tryon authors Mara and Ford Smith will promote their books in the atrium of the Headquarters Library. In 1996, Mara and Ford Smith settled in Tryon to work on their books. To date, they have produced nine books, including two for Globe Pequot Press, two for McGraw-Hill and one for Peel Publications.

At the library, the Smiths will be selling copies of their national award winning children’s book, “ABC All-American Riddles” and their photobook, “Focus on the Foothills,” plus their more recent releases, suspense novel “Endangered” and wine compendium “Winning Wines: Medal Winners for $12 or Less.”

Locally, in Tryon, all of these books may be found at The Book Shelf at 90 Pacolet Street. “Winning Wines” may be purchased at La Bouteille at 10 N. Trade Street.

Beth Troyer will also be signing her children’s book “Poppy Porcupine” along with various other local authors.

Troyer and her husband, Matt, own and operate Foothills Amish Furniture in Landrum.

The book signing event will take place at the Spartanburg Headquarters Library, located at 151 S. Church Street in Spartanburg.
