IMMINENT DOMAIN??
At Monday’s commissioner meeting, the subject of “Rails to Trails” once again was a hot item.
After Mr. Whitson’s report stating that the railroad firmly said there would be no release of the right-of-way for the proposed park, the three-member majority of the commissioner’s board still refused to rescind the “Resolution of Support” for the Rails to Trails effort by a three to two vote.
Although, the property owner deeds state that their property lines go to the middle of the tracks, and they have paid property taxes accordingly, it seems that the commissioners not by words, but by actions support “Imminent Domain” for the landowners.
Shame! Shame!
