Steinbach performs at BRCC March 22

The Blue Ridge Community College Concert Series will present pianist Falko Steinbach on Tuesday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Thomas Auditorium. The program will feature Beethoven’s “Tempest” sonata, several etudes by Chopin, and several “Choreographic Etudes” composed by Steinbach himself.

Born in Aachen and raised in Leverkusen, Germany, Steinbach has an extended international performance career with solo, orchestral and chamber music performances in North America, Europe, and Asia. A Steinway artist, Dr. Steinbach has performed many world premieres of contemporary piano music and has appeared widely on U.S. and German radio and television. Dr. Steinbach taught at the University of Cologne for ten years; since 1999 he has been head of the piano department at the University of New Mexico.

Admission to the concert is payable at the door. All concerts feature open (non-reserved) seating. Proceeds benefit the college’s Community Enrichment Program. Thomas Auditorium is located in the Sink Building on BRCC’s Henderson County campus.
