Polk district court results

Feb. 23, 2011 session
In Polk County District Court held on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011 with Judge T. Mack Brittain presiding, 126 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are as given in court records):
Justin Lee Carroll was convicted of operating a vehicle with impaired equipment. Carroll was fined $40 and court costs.
Lara Kathryn Furlong was convicted of speeding 74 m.p.h. in a 65 m.p.h. zone. Furlong was fined $40 and court costs.
Jessica Michell Graves was convicted of carrying a concealed weapon. Graves was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.
Cynthia Allise Hardy was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Hardy was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Gladys Jean Horton was convicted of financial card fraud. Horton was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, 72 hours of community service, a $200 fine and court costs.
Mark Allen Matthews was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Matthews was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Terrie Lynn Moyer was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Moyer was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Morgan N. Nunez was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Nunez was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Christopher E. Packer was convicted of possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and simple possession of a schedule III controlled substance. On the possession of a schedule VI controlled substance charge, Packer was sentenced to 18 months unsupervised probation and court costs. On the simple possession of a schedule III controlled substance, he was sentenced to 18 months unsupervised probation, a $300 fine and court costs.
David Ross Palmer was convicted of shining/sweeping a light for deer. Palmer was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $35 fine and court costs.
Henry Aaron Pruitt was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor, probation violation and injury to real property. Pruitt was sentenced to 45 days at the N.C. Department of Corrections.
Royce Davenport Rossi was convicted of driving during license restrictions. Rossi was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.
Nathan Scott Sproul was convicted of failure to comply with monies. Sproul was sentenced to 10 days in jail.
Michael Glenn Suddeth was convicted of failure to comply with monies. Suddeth’s sentence was revoked and modified to 15 days in jail.

Feb. 25, 2011 session
In Polk County District Court held Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 with Judge Peter Knight presiding, 68 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Brenda G. Jenks was convicted of resisting a public officer, intoxicated and disruptive behavior and injury to real property. Jenks was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $200 fine and court costs.
Joshua William Lindsay was convicted of driving while license revoked and level 2 driving while impaired. Lindsay was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation for driving while license revoked and 18 months supervised probation, seven days in jail, a $250 fine and court costs for driving while impaired.
Randy Thomas Long was convicted of first-degree trespass. Long was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation.
Bill Ray Praytor was convicted of resisting public officer and operating a vehicle with no operator’s license. Praytor was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for time served.
