The Tryon Downtown Development Association and the Town of Tryon recently awarded The Book Shelf a façade grant. Building owner Wanda May applied for funds to recreate the building’s unique architectural overhang designed by Holland Brady. Monies to underwrite Tryon’s façade program are part of a N.C. Rural Center Economic Innovation Grant and are awarded to facilitate historic preservation efforts in Tryon’s downtown district.
