PCMS MathCounts participates in competition

The Polk County Middle School MathCounts team went to TC Roberson High School to participate in the WNC MathCounts Competition. The official team consisted of four eighth graders: Scott Cannon, Price Marshall, Sesalie Rhinehart and Kailey Young. The unofficial team was made up of four seventh graders: Nicolas Barwell, Colleen Burke, Conner McCarthy and Sam Murray. Both teams did well and the team won a special recognition award as the Most Improved Team.

MathCounts is a national enrichment, club and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement through grassroots involvement in every U. S. state and territory. In its 28th year, MathCounts Competition Program provides the extra encentive and atmosphere for students to push themselves to achieve more in mathematics.
