April Fool celebration in Tryon April 1
It’s time to start getting ready for Tryon’s ‘nth’ April Fool’s celebration:
• polish dancing shoes
• construct outhouse
• lubricate stroller wheels
• collect recyclables
• create a costume
The April Fool’s celebration begins with a street dance on Friday night, April 1, including a dance contest sponsored by TFAC.
Saturday silliness includes midway games sponsored by the Mill Spring Agricultural Development Center, a bad art show sponsored by Tryon Painters & Sculptors, a trashion show sponsored by Tryon House, a fool’s parade, highly competitive outhouse and stroller races (the latter to benefit Foothills Humane Society) and endless folderol and tommyrot. The foolishness crescendos on Saturday night with a masquerade fool’s ball.
“There’s much work to be done! Much planning to do!” organizers said.
