Cooking class in Flat Rock Feb. 5

Season’s Restaurant at Highland Lake Inn in Flat Rock will offer a cooking lesson and lunch on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 11:30 a.m.

Executive chef Peter Fassbender will instruct participants in the creation of an entrée and dessert.

Participants will learn how to make Season’s beef wellington, a puff pastry-wrapped beef tenderloin enveloped by vegetable mirepoix and served over sautéed spinach on a mantle of demiglace. For dessert, the class will make a bretton apple tart, with fresh, subtly spiced apples with buttered rum in a sweet short pastry crust and served with vanilla bean ice cream.
