Tryon Fine Arts Center will usher in St. Patrick’s Day celebrations early with a traditional Irish band as the last Main Stage concert of the season.

On Thursday, March 10, TFAC will present Danú, a band that was founded in 1995 and is now established as one of Ireland’s most important ensembles. Danú has gathered numerous awards and critical acclaim and its members hail from counties Waterford, Dublin, Kerry and Donegal.

The group has a strong ethos of loyalty to the tradition from which their music comes. Musicians include Benny McCarthy (button accordion), Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh (vocals, whistle and flute), Eamonn Doorley (bouzouki), Oisin McAuley (fiddle), Donal Clancy (guitar), Donnchadh Gough (bodhran and uillean pipes) and Tom Doorley (flute and whistles).
