Polk High boys, girls beat Lakeview Academy

Polk County’s varsity men’s and women’s basketball teams both won their games Jan. 8 against Lakeview Academy. The women won with a score of 52-35 and the men won with a score of 70-55.
Top scorer for the women was Melinda Morgan followed by Kailey Russell, Brittany Phipps, Cassidy Mazzilli, Savannah Deaver, Rachel Vining, Ashley Lynch, Amber Lynch, Shalyn Brown, Alyssa Montgomery and Jamie Hrobak.
Top scorer for the men was Andre Overholt with 16 points, followed by Shawn Gary with 12, Stephen Staley with 11, Sam Vining with 8, Alec Philpott and Fidal Wilkins with 6, Chad Painter and Markece Cunningham with 4, Joel Booker with 2 and Chandler Miller with 1.
