Foothills Humane Society seeks temporary foster homes

While it is always the hope of Foothills Humane Society officials that the animals of Foothills each have a forever home of their own this holiday season, they realize that many of these animals will be at the shelter during this time.

The shelter is now full and and officials said they are desperate to get some of the animals into temporary foster homes. With the weather being so cold, the shelter is unable to use the lower six kennels, so only the inside kennels are in use.

If anyone would like to foster a dog that is special to you, or that you would like to treat to a special holiday during the next week, contact Dana Mayer at the shelter at 828-243-1852. Some cats might be available for fostering, but because of the difficulties with fostering grown cats, most cats will stay at the shelter.
