Dameron and his wife were traveling home in a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, his personal vehicle. State troopers have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to lose control. The vehicle ran off the left side of the road, hit a wooden fence and overturned. Dameron was thrown from the vehicle into a yard, and the car landed on top of him. Troopers say Dameron was not wearing a seat belt.

Damerons wife was wearing a seat belt, troopers say. She was transported by ambulance to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to reports.
