Polk honors county attorney Tom Hix for service

Polk commissioners honored Polk County Attorney Tom Hix for his service to the county on Monday. Hix, who has been battling health problems, was recognized with a plaque and a standing ovation. Hix graduated from the universities of Richmond and Alabama and was one of the youngest elected district court justices for the 29th district. He served as Polk County attorney from 1999 until 2010.
