Gary Edward Clark

Gary Edward Clark, 56, of&bsp; Mill Spring passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Talladega Speedway.

Born in New York, he was the son of the late Vernon and Irene Usakawski Clark. He moved to Polk County in 1984 from Long Island, N.Y. Gary was a member of Trout Unlimited and the Western North Carolina Muskie Club as he loved fishing. An avid photographer, he enjoyed photographing sporting events. For the last year, he wrote the The Great Outdoors column for the Tryon Daily Bulletin. Gary never met a stranger and his vivid stories will be missed by his numerous friends and his girls.

Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Helen Sherman Clark; three daughters, Jolene C. Horne of Tryon; Noelle and Gabrielle Clark, both of Mill Spring; three sisters, Irene Pracher (Bob) of Bellport, N.Y., Claudia Charest (Chris) of Monroe, N.C., and Penny Scherff of Phoenix, Ariz. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Brandon Horne, who died in 2009. &bsp;

Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2010 in Rogers Park in Tryon.

Family to receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 5 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 6 at Rogers Park in Tryon.
