David Smith, a Civil War re-enactor, will be the speaker at the Polk County Historical Association meeting on Tuesday, October 5 at 2:30 p.m. at the museum in Columbus.

The focus of the discussion will be on local men who served in that war and what life was like for the soldiers and their families.

If you have an ancestor from Polk County who served in the Civil War, you are invited to come to the meeting and share your photos, letters, and stories about your ancestor. The meeting is free and open to the public.
