PREP ROUNDUP

The Landrum varsity volleyball team ran its record in Region 2-A play to 3-1 Tuesday with a 3-0 (25-7, 25-17, 25-7) victory over visiting Whitmire.

Lydia Givins led the way for the Cardinals with 18 aces. Rebecca Hardin and Marissa Richard added seven aces apiece.

The Cardinals next host Christ Church tonight at 7 oclock. Junior varsity action is set to begin&bsp; at 5:30 p.m.

Brevard tops PCMS

The Polk County Middle School tennis team opened its season with an 8-1 home loss to Brevard. PCMS No. 1 singles player Kesley Warren earned the lone victory for PCMS with an 8-5 win over Brevards Andy McCall.
