Mill Spring man arrest for assault

A 48-year-old Mill Spring man was stabbed in the back following a recent altercation at his home.

The Polk County Sheriffs Office arrested Fransisco Guerrero Rubio, 23, of 6411 Big Level Road, Mill Spring, and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Major Calvin Atkins says, according to reports, on Aug. 21, there were five or six people watching television when Rubio came home intoxicated. The people in the home ran from Rubio, who chased them with a knife. The victim was stabbed in the back in the kidney area and transported to the hospital. Atkins says he was later stabilized.

Rubio was still in jail as of this week being held under a $25,000 bond.
