A 42-year-old Landrum woman died Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on North Blackstock Road.

Ida Denise May, of 319 Laurens Road, Landrum, was ejected and died instantly from head and internal injuries, according to the Spartanburg County Coroners Office.

According to the S.C. Highway Patrol, May was driving toward Highway 14, about 2 miles south of Landrum, and lost control of the vehicle a white 1997 Honda Passport. The wreck happened at about 12:45 p.m.

Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne reported that May over-corrected and ran off the right side of the road. Rhyne said she was not wearing a seat belt.
