Owls host cancer awareness night

The Forest City Owls will hold a cancer awareness event at their home game Friday night against the Martinsville Mustangs.

Organizations from throughout Rutherford County who help treat cancer patients, and those who help families or cancer patients cope with the disease will be on hand giving out information.

This is a great way for the Owls to be involved with the community said Owls General Manager James Wolfe.&bsp; Cancer affects most people in some way, shape, or form over their life, and people might not have all the information about dealing with the disease.

We hope that our fans will take the opportunity Friday night to visit all the organizations represented at the game and leave with a new understanding of what is available to cancer patients and their families.

Gates to McNair Field will open at 6 p.m. Friday and first pitch is 7:05 p.m. &bsp;

Adult general admission tickets are $6 and youth and senior general admission tickets are $5.
