Annie Mae Whiteside, 77, of Tryon passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Memory and Elberta Burns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edney Whiteside.

She is survived by a son, Edney

Whiteside Jr., daughters, Mary Thompson of the home, Shelly Whiteside of Wildwood, Mo., and Pam Shields of Westminster, Calif. Also surviving are brothers Memory Burns of Tryon and Henry Burns of Colorado.

The family would like to express gratitude to the wonderful staff of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills as well as the members of St. Lukes C.M.E. church family. We are also grateful to our extended family and friends of the community.

A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday, June 4 at St. Lukes C.M.E. church of Tryon. Wilson Funeral Directors of Hendersonville are in charge of the arrangements.
