Tryons Blitzen Benz team wins in Nashville

The Blitzen Benz team took the lead during the final laps of last Sundays 9-hour road race to win the ChumpCar World Series Nashville Nine Part Deux by a 43-second margin. Built by Ned Gallaher of Gallahers Restorations, the Mercedes-Benz 190E race car posted the fastest lap time of the event. The Blitzen Benz team included drivers Warren Board of Tryon, Ned Gallaher and James Wilson of Asheville, Mark Thomas of Winchester, Virginia, crew chief Rusty Tredinnick and pit chief Greg Pressley of Asheville. The average age of the Blitzen Benz team was nearly twice that of their competitors. The team donated its 1st Place winnings to Brooks House, a Nashville charity, and brought home a hand-made trophy for display on Gallahers showcase.
