PCMS holds band meetings for rising sixth graders

Rising sixth graders who are interested in joining the Polk County Middle School band should plan to attend the upcoming instrument fitting and rental meetings:

Mouthpiece testing nights will be Monday or Tuesday, May 17 and May 18, from 5 until 7 p.m. in the middle school band room. These are first come, first serve meetings (drop in).&bsp; Students will be tested on all instruments to see which one best suits them.

Rental meetings to purchase/ rent horns will be Monday or Tuesday May 24 and May 25 at 7 p.m. in the middle school auditorium. All students will need to be tested before they attend the rental meetings. If students are unable to attend the mouthpiece testing nights, they will be tested at the rental meetings.

Pre-6th grade band camp is June 14 through 18: Students that sign up for band are encouraged to attend this camp to learn band basics before the start of the 2010-11 school year. This will provide students with an opportunity to meet other students who will be in their sections. (Times are still TBA)
