Childrens books needed for Polk Red Cross book sale
Published 3:12 pm Friday, May 14, 2010
Last year, the people of Polk County gave their gently used books to the Red Cross and thereby enabled our chapter to hold a very successful Spring Book Sale. The funds realized from this event helped to make it possible for our local chapter to continue to provide the many services our community relies on from the Red Cross.
This year, the Polk Chapter of the American Red Cross have planned another Spring Book Sale on May 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 23 from 1 to 4 p.m., May 24 through 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a half price day on May 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Once again, they ask that you give your books, magazines, CDs and DVDs to them so that their sale can be even more successful than last year.
They have received thousands of books of all kinds but have not received very many childrens books. So any donations to their childrens corner including books, movies, games, and puzzles would be greatly appreciated.
To drop off books you can deliver your books to the chapter located at 231 Ward St. in Columbus or call for pick up.&bsp; For information about assistance in picking up books, call 828-894-2700.
