Grambo Boveri

Robert George Grambo Boveri, 77,of 1061 W. Mills Street, Columbus, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, S.C.

Born in Lafayettte, Ind., he was the son of the late George Louis and Clara Barbara Goetz Boveri. He was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School, class of l951, and Purdue University, school of forestry, class of l955, and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. His professional life was spent with State Farm Insurance, where he was an adjustor for 35 years before retiring in 1995. He moved to Polk County in 1999, coming from Lafayette, Ind. He was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church, Tryon.

Surviving are: two daughters, Lori Pickering (Bruce) of Columbus and Lisa Grobowsky (Jay) of Tryon; a brother, Donald Boveri (Winnie) of Granger, Ind. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Ciara Pickering, Bailey, Tyler and Sydney Grobowsky.

A memorial mass will be held&bsp; 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010&bsp; in the St. Johns Catholic Church, Tryon, with Father Patrick Winslow officiating.
