Margaret Vollmer

Margaret Lindsay Vollmer, 92, of Pacolet Valley, Tryon, died Saturday, May 1, 2010 in Mary Black Memorial Hospital, Spartanburg, S.C.
Born in Landrum, she was the daughter of the late Miller Edwin and Julia Watts Lindsay. She was married for 58 years to the late John Rebmann Vollmer, who died in 1998. Mrs. Vollmer was a member of the office staff of Tryon City Schools for approximately 25 years before retiring in 1983. She was a past member of the Daffy Jills Garden Club and the Womens Society of Christian Service at the Tryon Methodist Church for many years. She was currently a member of the Tryon Congregational Church.
Surviving are: a daughter, Karen V. Killough (Wally) of&bsp; Tryon; a son, John Victor Vollmer of Tryon; three grandchildren, Eric Killough (Beth) of San Jose, Calif., Julia Killough Findley (Owen) and John Michael Vollmer, both of Raleigh, N.C.,&bsp;&bsp; a great-grandchild, Margaret Katharine Findley, and two nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ernst Vollmer.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in the Congregational Church, Tryon, with Dr. Robert W. Barrows officiating.
