Hazel Beeson Hancock

Hazel Beeson Hancock, 98, formerly of Hwy. 176, Pacolet Valley, Tryon, died&bsp; Friday, April 30, 2010 in LaurelWoods Assisted Living, Columbus.

Born in Mullins, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Emory Andrew and was the widow of Craig Hancock, who died in 1992. Mrs. Hancock graduated from Mullins High School, Mullins, S.C., and moved to Tryon in 1939. She was a member of Tryon United Methodist Church.

Surviving is a brother, Joseph Beeson of Mullins, S.C., and numerous nieces and nephews&bsp; and family friend, Andrew Millard of Columbus. She was preceded in death by a son, William Andrew Andy Hancock, who died in 2000.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, with Rev. Neil Haynes officiating.
