Former Polk County commissioner Harry Denton has been appointed to a one-year term as a member of the Chimney Rock State Park Advisory Committee. Lewis Ledford, director of the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources Division of Parks and Recreation, said Dentons experience and interest will provide important assistance to plan the parks future. The state is working on long range plans for development of the new state park.
