armon Field parks and recreation supervisor George Alley presented to Tryon Town Council the need to resurface the tennis courts. Alley said about $18,000 has been raised in the capital improvement fund and he is seeking grants. He described the courts as in very bad shape and dangerous and wanted to put it in front of council again prior to next years budget preparations. The project, which will be anywhere from $60,000 to $90,000 is planned to be paid for 1/3 through fundraising, 1/3 through grants and 1/3 through taxpayer dollars.
